Istanbul, Turkey – Galata Wind Enerji A.S., a pure-play renewable energy company dedicated to wind and solar power generation, has been awarded an ESG Entity Rating of ‘2’ with an overall score of ‘76’ by Sustainable Fitch, which indicates that Galata evidences a good ESG profile and impact.
This remarkable rating makes Galata Wind the second company in Sustainable Fitch’s comprehensive EMEA universe to receive the pure-play label. Galata Wind’s rating highlights its significant contributions to climate change mitigation through dedicated renewable energy initiatives and a robust sustainability strategy that is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and ambitiously targets net zero emissions by 2030.
Galata Wind ranks 1st among 13 Turkish companies in Sustainable Fitch's ESG rating system, demonstrating its position as a leading company in Turkey's energy transition. Galata Wind is also ranked in the top 10 percent globally in the energy sector out of 150 companies, reflecting its commitment to sustainable practices internationally. In the broader Sustainable Fitch Universe of approximately 800 companies, Galata Wind is ranked in the top 5 percent, solidifying its status as a top-performing renewable energy company with exemplary environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.

Founded in 2006 and publicly traded since 2021, Galata Wind operates three wind and two solar power plants across Turkey with a total capacity of 297.2 MW.
