Galata Wind, which generates electricity from renewable energy sources, mainly wind and solar energy, has published its financial statements for the first time in accordance with Turkish Financial Reporting Standards and the formats determined by the Capital Markets Board in accordance with the policy decision on the application of inflation accounting dated 28.12.2023. The company's consolidated revenue, EBITDA and profit before tax increased by 26%, 12% and 13% respectively at the end of 2023 compared to the previous year without the application of inflation accounting. With the application of inflation accounting, a net monetary position loss of TL 110.6 million was recorded in 2023 due to the company's strong equity structure and net liquidity. The deferred tax income from the differences arising from the revaluation of fixed assets in prior periods due to inflation accounting became deferred tax expenses. The company's inflation-adjusted net profit for the period decreased by 135% to TL 623.5 million due to the impact of inflation accounting and deferred tax expenses. The net cash (debt) / EBITDA ratio, one of Galata Wind's most important key performance indicators, was realized at 0.48 despite the investment cost of TL 1.3 billion in 2023, which was fully covered by equity. Galata Wind is focused on generating clean energy for a sustainable future and has generated a total of 678,475 MWh (WPP) and 51,139 MWh (SPP) of electricity from renewable resources by the end of 2023.

From a sectoral perspective, the renewable energy sector is crucial to meeting global energy demand in a sustainable manner, ensuring energy security and achieving environmental sustainability goals. Burak Kuyan, CEO of Galata Wind, which is continuously increasing its energy generation capacity and efficiency by closely following technological developments and innovations in the sector, emphasized its target to increase its installed capacity to 550 MW by 2025 and said: "In line with our growth strategy and 2025 targets, we are actively continuing our construction activities at our three sites. With the completion of the capacity expansion works at Taşpınar WPP, we aim to increase our current installed capacity of 290 MW to 299 MW in a short period of time. In 2024, we plan to increase our installed capacity to over 350 MW, with the additional capacity expansion to be realized through 6 new turbines at Mersin WPP and the commissioning of Phase 2 of Taşpınar Hybrid SPP. In addition, we are continuing our efforts to reach our growth target of 550 MW in 2025 with the European investments we have started with our company Galata Wind Energy Global established abroad, and then to reach 1000 MW in 2030 with investments in Europe and Turkey."
