Galata Wind continues its investments in the renewable energy sector and has commissioned 2 more wind turbines at the Bursa Taşpınar wind power plant, which will increase the power output by 13 MW. This brings the number of turbines at the Taşpınar wind power plant, which has been operating in Bursa, Nilüfer Korubaşı district since October 2020, to 16. The new turbines are expected to make an average annual contribution of around 20% to the Taşpınar wind power plant's production and an additional annual carbon reduction of around 20,000 tons.

In addition, 9.4 MW of the first phase of the approximately 42.5 MW hybrid SPP in the "Taşpınar Combined Renewable Electricity Generation Facility Project", which now comprises both WPP and SPP, was commissioned. The remaining 7 MW of the first phase, which has been under construction for some time, is expected to be commissioned shortly. The target for the second phase of the project, with a capacity of 25 MW, is the end of 2024. To summarize, with the additional turbines and the hybrid SPP, which will be commissioned at the end of 2023, the current total installed capacity of the Taşpınar power plant is 88.4 MWm / 73 MWe.

Burak Kuyan, CEO of Galata Wind, stated that the company's planned investments for 2023-2024 will continue in line with its 2025 targets and that efficiency is one of the most important issues: "Hybrid power plants, which enable electricity to be generated from more than one source in a single production facility, allow production facilities to operate more efficiently and with longer availability and to generate more electricity within the limits of installed electricity capacity. Thanks to hybrid power plants, we generate electricity from solar energy on windless days and from wind energy on days with little sunshine. In this way, the impact of seasonal conditions is minimized and efficiency increases due to the operating hours of the power plant. In addition, the lower investment and operating costs of the planned hybrid power plant investment in Taşpınar WPP represent a significant advantage. Moreover, since wind generation is covered as the main source of YEKDEM, it is possible to evaluate solar power generation, which is an additional source, within the scope of YEKDEM."
